Application

To apply for EU-funding is time-consuming and labour-intensive. A proposal usually consists of 30 to 80 pages and requires amongst others, the presentation of following qualitative aspects:

  • Where do you see need for action? The well-founded analysis of the initial conditions for your project on Euroean level, in your and your project partners respective countries resp. regions.
  • Based on this: What are the objectives of your planned project? These have to be formulated stringent and clearly, with a clear connection to the support programme’s objectives and the general political objectives of the EU-commission.
  • How do you want to proceed? A description of your planned methods. Why like this and not otherwise?
  • How will your project be carried out? A detailed presentation of the project progression and all planned measures.

  • Who will you work with? The introduction of your participating project partners and why you have chosen these and no other. Your project partners have to fulfill the formal conditions of eligibillity as well.
  • What will your project cost? You will need a detailed statement of your calculated cost. Please note, not all measures are eligible. Only billable activities may be considered. Each support programme has its own differentiated formal regulations.
  • Who pays the rest? As a general rule the EU demands a co-financing of your project. This already has to be available and to be proven at submitting your proposal.
  • How do you measure your success? Presentation of an elaborated and well-founded evaluation plan by which you will determine the part- and overall results of your project.
  • How will you let Europe participate in your success? The so called “obligation of dissemination“. Describe your strategy to disseminate and to publish your project results.
  • What will come after? The EU attaches great importance to the sustaining effects of projects they have funded and expects presentation of your sustainability plan.

Fulfilment of formal proposal requirements

  • Compliance of single- or multi-stage application procedures.
  • Submission of the complete set of required accompanying documents.
  • Full compliance with application deadlines.
